Privacy

Parktide tells you the street-parking rules for a curb in San Francisco. This page covers the website and the iOS app.

What we store

Location

The iOS app uses your location only while you are using it, to drop the pin on the curb you're standing on. It does not track you in the background. Lookup coordinates are processed by our hosting and database providers to deliver the service; we do not sell location data or use it for advertising. You can also search an address or move the pin yourself. A lookup sends that coordinate to our server so it can find the block.

What we don't do

We don't sell personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't let third parties use it for their own purposes. City parking data comes from DataSF and is not about you.

Who can see it

Your account data is stored in Supabase (Postgres), in the United States. The app is hosted on Vercel. Reminder notifications are delivered by Apple (for the iOS app) or your browser's push service. Only the server, acting as you, reads your rows. They are not available through the public database API.

How long

Your saved spot, history, notes and reminders stay until you delete them or delete your account. Signing out does not delete account data. Your device stores session credentials securely to keep you signed in until you sign out or the session is revoked. You can delete one history entry, all of them, or the whole account from Settings in the iOS app. Deleting the account removes the spot, history, notes, reminders, push tokens, subscription record linked to the account, and sign-in account from our active database. Provider backups and operational logs may persist under provider retention policies. Apple separately maintains its billing records. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription with Apple; cancel it in Apple subscription settings.
